About the Role

Imagine this. You are ensuring the structural integrity of the propulsion systems powering the next generation of high performance UAVs. Every analysis you perform helps guarantee that critical engine components can withstand extreme thermal and mechanical loads while delivering exceptional reliability and performance. From early concept development through testing and production, you will work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to solve complex challenges and help bring advanced turbojet engines from design to reality.

At Destinus, we are revolutionizing the defense industry with cutting-edge Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Our innovative technologies are designed to meet the unique demands of modern defense operations, delivering unparalleled speed, precision, and cost effectiveness. Destinus partners with government agencies and defense organizations worldwide to provide advanced solutions for mission-critical operations, enabling a new era of efficiency and technological superiority. Join us in shaping the future of defense with groundbreaking aerospace innovations.

What You'll Do

  • Perform structural, thermal, and thermo mechanical analyses of turbojet engine components using analytical methods and Finite Element Analysis.
  • Assess centrifugal, thermal, vibratory, and combined loading on rotating and stationary engine hardware.
  • Evaluate the mechanical integrity and durability of compressor and turbine wheels, shafts, blisks, casings, bearing supports, combustor structures, and exhaust components.
  • Predict thermal growth and hot to cold geometry changes to optimize running clearances and engine performance.
  • Perform fatigue, creep, thermo mechanical fatigue, and durability assessments for high temperature engine components.
  • Analyze bearings, shafts, interference fits, couplings, mechanical joints, and sealing systems under operational loading.
  • Develop detailed FEA models and analytical calculations to support design decisions and component sizing.
  • Define critical engine load cases and correlate analysis with rig, endurance, and flight testing results.
  • Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, aerodynamics, combustion, and test engineers to improve component performance and manufacturability.
  • Prepare technical documentation and contribute to engine qualification and certification activities.

Requirements

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Between 3 and 8 years of experience performing structural or mechanical integrity analysis for gas turbine or turbojet engines.
  • Strong understanding of rotating machinery operating under high centrifugal and thermal loads.
  • Hands on experience using ANSYS Mechanical, Abaqus, Nastran, or similar FEA software.
  • Solid knowledge of classical stress calculations, structural sizing, fatigue analysis, and durability assessment.
  • Experience evaluating thermal deformation, hot to cold geometry changes, and tip clearance optimization.
  • Understanding of high temperature aerospace materials, creep, thermo mechanical fatigue, and material behaviour.
  • Experience analyzing bearings, shafts, sealing systems, interference fits, and mechanical joints.
  • Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes including machining, casting, additive manufacturing, and heat treatment.
  • Strong communication skills with professional English proficiency.
  • Experience with MATLAB or Python is considered an advantage.

Who You Are

You enjoy solving challenging engineering problems where structural integrity directly impacts engine performance, safety, and reliability. You combine analytical thinking with practical engineering judgement, making decisions that balance performance, manufacturability, and durability. You thrive in a fast moving development environment where testing, iteration, and collaboration are part of everyday work. You are naturally curious, hands on, and motivated by seeing your analyses validated on real hardware while taking ownership of complex engineering challenges from concept through production.

Security screening is an integral component of the selection process, ensuring that candidates meet the organization's security standards and safeguarding against potential risks.

Providing a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) is a standard part of the application process at Destinus.
