Mechanical engineering is such a broad topic. So many different things to design and build. You have decided to utilize your skills and knowledge in the domain of radars, high-frequency electronics, RF systems. If you feel concerned about European defense capabilities maybe you'd like to help us at Destinus? We're here to help European countries protect themselves from threats in the increasingly unstable world.

What's in it for you? Improving safety of us all here in Europe, that's for starts. And by the way: if you're not comfortable with military applications, we're not going to be a good match for you. But if you're still reading and what to know a bit more... You will be well financially, not worrying about making it to the 1st, and in the long term perspective, you will be able to participate in our stock options program to see your impact impacting your future too. There's also a gym that you can use for free and kitchen where you can have breakfast at company expense.

But most importantly you will have tons of impact. We're a new kid on the block, growing fast, and our employees grow with the company. If you can operate in an environment with a good fair of ambiguity, you're gonna like it. You will see your designs materialize fast and you will see how your work contributes to the big picture, directly. If you're ambitious and bored with the timelines in traditional aerospace, this is the place.

You can expect to work on enclosure & radome structural design, making sure it's lightweight, durable and RF-transparent on top of it all. You'll select materials based on their strength, weight, and corrosion resistance, performing structural analysis for vibration, shock, and wind loads. You will also make sure sealing, gasketing and coatings meet IP ratings, designing for operation in wide temperature ranges and harsh conditions.

Of course, radomes need to be attached to something, so you'll also look into mounting & integration, developing such solutions for vehicles, towers, UAVs, and stationary installations. With your experience you already know that your work is also about ensuring precise alignment and stability of radar during operation.

And while we're on the operation part - you're going to contribute to thermal management as well. This means designing the passive and active cooling systems but also thermal simulations and testing to ensure electronics stay within limits. You will also support electronic engineers with thermomechanical codesign of PCBs.

All of your work would go to waste though if it wouldn't be properly tested. You will be involved in prototyping & manufacturing support. After all, you most likely want to ensure manufacturability and quality of what you designed.

If this sounds like a good place to start the conversation, we're happy to hear from you!

Requirements

Here's what we expect in your resume as we think will help you be successful:

  • Proficiency in Siemens NX and TC.
  • Knowledge of mechanical FEA and thermal simulation tools.
  • Understanding of material properties (metals, composites, polymers).
  • Experience with environmental sealing (IP65/IP67 or MIL-STD).
  • Familiarity with precision mechanical assemblies and tolerancing. (ISO-GPS is a plus).
  • Experience with radar, RF systems, or high-frequency electronics packaging.
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-810 or similar environmental test standards.
  • Proficiency with 3D-Printing technologies.
  • Expertise in composites and sandwich structures is a plus.
