About Us

STARK is a new kind of defence technology company, revolutionizing the way autonomous systems are deployed across multiple domains. We design, develop and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are software-defined, mass-scalable, and cost-effective. This provides our operators with a decisive edge in highly contested environments.

We’re focused on delivering deployable, high-performance systems. In a time of rising threats, STARK is bolstering the technological edge of NATO Allies and their Partners to deter aggression and defend Europe.

Your mission

Own the execution of next-generation defense technology within our power systems.

As a Project Manager for the Battery Integrated Project Team (IPT) at STARK, you are the engine room of our critical power and battery development programs. You don’t just track progress; you drive it. Officially anchored within the central PMO and reporting directly to the Lead PMO, you will be functionally embedded within the Battery IPT, working hand-in-glove with the Battery Team Lead. You will lead cross-functional alignment of engineers, supply chain experts, and external partners to deliver mission-ready battery systems on time and on spec.

You bridge the gap between complex electrical and hardware engineering, PMO standards, and strategic mission requirements. This role is for a high-performer who understands the urgency of the current security landscape and can lead through complexity with a steady hand.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Lead Program Execution: End-to-end responsibility for Battery IPT workstreams. You define milestones, manage budgets, and ensure that technical requirements translate into operational reality.

  • Matrix Leadership: Orchestrate collaboration between the Battery IPT, wider engineering teams, production, and the central PMO. You ensure that everyone is aligned on the mission-critical path for our battery systems.

  • Stakeholder & Interface Management: Act as the key operational link between the Battery Team Lead and the Lead PMO. You translate technical hurdles into actionable business decisions and ensure transparent reporting.

  • Advanced Risk & Opportunity Management: Proactively identify technical, certification, and logistical bottlenecks specific to battery development. You don’t just surface risks; you develop and execute mitigation strategies.

  • Optimize the Playbook: Design and implement scalable PMO processes directly within the Battery IPT. You help STARK transition from a fast-growing startup to a structured, high-output defense powerhouse.

  • Resource & Capacity Planning: Work closely with the Battery Team Lead to ensure that engineering talent is deployed where it has the highest impact on the program’s success.

Your First 12 Months: Learn Fast, Own More

This is a launchpad role designed for rapid growth. You’ll start by learning how STARK runs its programs, then quickly take ownership of the Battery IPT's operational execution.

Timeframe

Focus

Month 0–2: Integration

Deep dive into STARK’s tech stack, central PMO structures, and the Battery IPT. Take over a significant sub-project and establish yourself as the trusted operational right-hand to the Battery Team Lead.

Month 2–6: Delivery

Own a major battery program milestone (e.g., prototype testing, safety sign-off, or production ramp-up). Drive the "Definition of Ready" and ensure all gates are passed with high-quality documentation.

Month 6–12: Project Mastery

Take full operational ownership of the Battery IPT's project portfolio. Lead mid-term planning, manage significant budgets, and ensure seamless synchronization with overall platform roadmaps.

By the end of your first year, you’ll be operating as a self-directed project manager owning real deliverables and influencing how major sub-system projects are executed at STARK.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • Education: Master’s in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Engineering, Business Administration with an affinity to Hardware (specifically electrical/power systems) or similar. Dual technical-business background ideal.

  • Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience in project management. Experience in the defense, aerospace, automotive, or high-tech hardware industry (especially involving battery technologies) is a significant plus. You understand the nuances of military requirements or complex systems integration.

  • Military/Defense Context: Familiarity with defense procurement processes, NATO standards, or previous experience in a military environment is highly valued.

  • Mindset: You are a "Force Multiplier." You possess a strong sense of ownership and a "mission first" attitude. You seamlessly navigate the matrix structure between PMO and the technical IPT.

  • Structure: High proficiency in modern PM tools (Jira, Confluence, Google Workspace, MS) and a proven ability to bring order to high-velocity R&D environments.

  • Methodology: Proven track record of applying agile or structured project management methodologies to complex physical products.

  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills in English and German. You can hold your own in a technical design review and provide a concise briefing to the central PMO and C-level.
