As an Embedded Systems Engineer, you'll play a central role in the design and development of flight algorithms and onboard systems that power our UAV platforms. From rapid prototyping to flight testing, you'll see your code take flight. You'll work hands on with hardware and influence key architectural decisions as part of a small, highly capable team where your voice matters and your work has immediate impact.

Responsibilities

Push your limits in a fast paced, diverse software engineering role; solving problems across multiple disciplines to develop fully featured commercial solutions. You will be designing and building software solutions for cutting-edge UAS technology that empowers new applications, pushing the boundaries of what our customers think is possible. We are looking for someone who is flexible and adaptable in their role and keen to learn on the job soaking up new expertise and implementing it in real time.

In this role, your responsibilities are:

  • Design, implement, and test flight control algorithms in C++ for embedded systems.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow engineers across software, hardware, and systems disciplines — all under one roof.
  • Integrate software onto real UAV platforms, from bench testing to full flight trials.
  • Contribute to core architectural decisions and help shape the future of our autonomy stack.
  • Operate in a fast-paced environment where every day brings new challenges and learning opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in C++, particularly in embedded or real-time systems.
  • Experience developing software for embedded platforms (e.g., ARM-based processors, NVIDIA Jetson).
  • Good understanding of control systems, estimation, or flight dynamics.
  • Passion for hands-on development and iterative problem-solving.
  • Full UK working rights.
  • Must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance to SC level

Nice to Have

  • Experience with NVIDIA Jetson Orin or other high-performance embedded compute platforms.
  • Familiarity with PX4, MAVLink, or similar UAV software stacks.
  • Experience working with ROS (Robot Operating System).
  • Exposure to real-world testing of autonomous or robotic systems.
